The Programme

Our Virtual CPD Masterclasses Replay can be completed in 14 days

Participants will learn various ancestral art forms throughout the week, such as Balinese, Javanese, Indian Classical Dances, Afro-Caribbean, and Yoga. These art forms will help strengthen the participants' spiritual and technical connection to Graham and Horton in lessons that focus on implementing the core practice of shape definition to enhance technical studies and fundamental principles in both dance styles.

Our programme is designed for any Graham or Horton-level students, including complete beginners or advanced students. We will deepen our comprehension of the traditional exercises and movements of The Horton and Graham Techniques from beginner to advanced levels, emphasizing movement studies for participants of all levels. Teachers who desire to introduce authentic elements of Horton and Graham in their lessons will receive all the information they need to learn the specific syllabus required to teach the movements accurately.

This rigorous training includes 17 educative lessons, allowing participants to meaningfully implement what they've learned in practical classes and coaching sessions. We will also provide updates on movement studies, teaching tools, and tips for teaching the dances safely.

After completing the entire online training, participants earn their CPD Certificate. Participants can select the CPD course they wish to take and the points they desire to acquire. Even if they study only one technique for over five days, they can still receive their CPD Certificate.

During the CPD Masterclasses, students will be introduced to multiple teaching propositions to deepen a purposeful connection to a new generation of dancers of any age. At MIU, we regularly research methods to advance the Graham and Horton techniques while preserving established teaching procedures that have proven their efficiency over the years.

During the CPD training, we will alternate dance, movements, Q&As, discussions, and studies. Please, take a notebook and a pen and be ready to dance in every lesson.
